Donut Star https://www.donutstarmn.com/is located at 2901 Cliff Rd E. Purchased about a year ago by the owners of Estelle and Mario’s both in St. Paul. It has 362 Google reviews and a high 4.7 rating.

I have been there before the new ownership and then just last week. The new owners have improved the donuts dramatically.

Here is the review of what I have enjoyed…

• Raised donut – these are excellent and second only to Mel-O-Glaze in Minneapolis by Lake Nokomis.
• Boston Crème filled donut – This is as good as I have had-wonderful cream.
• Blueberry and lemon fritter – another wonderful donut, I have had nothing like this to compare to and I will order this again and again.
• Cherry jam filled donut – I love cherry and the quality of the filling was wonderful…another favorite of mine.

They are open Wednesday to Friday from 6am to noon, Saturday and Sunday 6am to 2pm. But donuts sell out quickly so go earlier than later.

I give it five stars out of five. This is a must go to restaurant if you are in the area.
