Review of Jensens Food & Cocktails in Eagan

Jensen’s Food & Cocktails in is located next to the Eagan Premium Outlet Mall at 3840 Rahn Road. They are open daily from 11am to 4pm for lunch Monday to Saturday and 4pm -9/10pm Monday to Saturday. They are open on Monday through Sunday and open at 11am and serve dinner nightly. They are celebrating 27 years for this family owned restaurant.  Their website is https://www.jensensfoodandcocktails.com/ Reservations are done through their website at https://www.jensensfoodandcocktails.com/reservations/ .

The interior was remodeled in 2014 and has an old-world charm to it with rick woodwork and large booths. The bar is medium in size and there is in bar tables also for a more relaxed atmosphere.

Here are their menu…https://www.jensensfoodandcocktails.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Jensens-Supper-Club-Dinner-1-24-WEB-1.pdf. We were there was dinner.

Has a big, comfortable bar that you see when you come in.

Here is what we had to eat…

  • Spinach Artichoke Dip – Hot artichoke dip served with toasted baguette slices. We found the dip bland and the baguette pasted its prime. I don’t suggest this and would never order it again. Priced at $16.

  • Popovers – come with the meal and served warm with honey butter. They are so good its like having dessert.

  • Asparagus – served warm, sauce was separating and it was over cooked. Disappointing since it was better previous times I was there. Priced at $14.

Jensen's Food & Cocktails

  • Cheesy Hashbrowns – asked for it crispy and I’m glad I did since normal wouldn’t of been cooked enough, lots of flavor and smothered in a ton of butter. Might be greasy for some. Priced at $10.

Jensen's Food & Cocktails

  • 14 oz. New York Strip – center cut strip aged and marbled. The person who had it loved it and was very impressed. Priced at $52.

Jensens Food & Cocktails

  • Sauteed Walleye – two people at our table had this and loved it. The portion was a little small. Priced at $28.

Jensens Food & Cocktails

  • 8 oz. Filet Oscar – says it was an 8 oz but I would say it was 6 oz. Topped with crab cake, asparagus and Bearnaise. I loved the crab cake but my daughter did not. Asparagus was soft and Bearnaise was separated.

Jensens Food & Cocktails

I found the staff very friendly, our server was nice but she was a little confused at times. I had a martini and it was amazing…you get a glass and a shaker full it you would be hard pressed to have two and drive home.

I give it 4.0 stars **** out of five. Food was on average good, service was good, atmosphere was excellent in an old fashioned kind of way, drink was amazing, and I might of given it a little less but have been there many times and know some of the issues I had wouldn’t be repeated.
