Visit the Chain of Lakes in Minneapolis

Let me tell you about it.

The Chain of Lakes is located in Minneapolis

They include Brownie Lake, Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska (Lake Calhoun), Lake Nokomis and Lake Harriet. They are connected by a wonderful trail system.

You can walk, rollerblade and walk on the trail system. Click here to map your route. The loop is over 10 miles. Dogs are also allowed on the trails but must be kept on leash.

If you continue to the end on Minnehaha Creek past Lake Nokomis, you will find the beautiful Minnehaha Falls. It flows into the Mississippi River and there is a wonderful trail system along the river also.

Theodore Wirth was responsible for much of our park system including the Chain of Lakes.

These wonderful lakes, trails and parks are why Minneapolis is known as the “City of Lakes”.

Hope you found this blog on the Chain of Lakes in Minneapolis helpful.
