Here is a summary of Como Park Zoo & Conservatory

Their story

It all began in 1915 when the conservatory was first opened to the public. Then there is the Art Deco Zoological Building finished in 1936. Since then they have added polar bears, giraffes, sea lions, large cat exhibit. In addition, there is an aquatic building, primate facility and land and water bird exhibit. But best of all the Zoo is FREE!

What else does Como Park offer

It features 2.3 miles of paved trails. The Como Park Golf Course which is an 18 hole and par 70. Also, Como Lake with a fishing pier. The walk around the lake is an enjoyable 1.6 miles. My favorite is the Lakeside Pavilion. Because it has a New Orleans themed restaurant and hosts music in an outdoor band shell. Always a fun summer-time event. Also, is the Como Town amusement park with riders for the kids.

The Conservatory

One of the few remaining glass-domed Victorian gardens in the United States. Remarkably it houses 260 major varieties of plants from six different continents. In fact, it is a remarkable building with impressive year-round beauty. They also have 275 wedding there a year because of the breathtaking beauty and picturesque setting.

How can I visit?
