Visit Brainerd International Raceway
Let me tell you about it.
Brainerd International Raceway is the largest racetrack in the Upper Midwest. It is a road course and has a dragstrip complex. The Brainerd International raceway hosts the National Hot Rod Associations Lucas Oil Nationals.
It opened in 1968 as Donnybrooke Speedway. Was renamed to Brainerd International Raceway in 1973. The dragstrip is known as “one of the quickest and fastest in the world”. Tony Schumacher turned in a speed of 337.58 which is the fastest quarter mile ever.
I have attended the Lucas Oil Nationals and I will say it was a magical experience. You must see it in person to appreciate the power and speed of these cars. You can visit the teams, their vehicles and their trailers, sample great foods, stay at the resort or campgrounds and be submersed in the racing culture.
For a list of all the events at Brainerd International Raceway visit here .They have something going on all summer. You can do performance driving school, see superbike racing, bring your car in for night street legal drag racing, come with the Porsche club, See Trans AM Championship Racing, watch F4 National Championship and so much more!

Lodging
Many options are available. You have campsites, deluxe condominiums, and off-track lodging. Visit BIRMN to find out more.
I would not recommend this if I had not had such a great experience. I will go again and suggest experiencing this in person. This must be seen in person to be genuinely appreciated!
Next week we will talk about another aspect of what is great in Minnesota.
Honestly if you cannot find something fun to do in the State of Minnesota all year long…then you are not looking!
