Visit a Twin Cities Park – fun thing to do

With spring in the air, it is time for outdoor activities. But, with our coronavirus concerns we must abide by our state mandated “social distancing”. That means 6 feet is recommended in the outdoors. But indoors, like a grocery store, 6 feet is the bare minimum required.

What are some parks to visit?

Northern suburbs of the Twin Cities – North Mississippi Regional Park is a joint effort. Created with the Minneapolis Park Board and the Three Rivers Park District. It borders the western shore of the Mississippi. And connected to the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway through bike trails.

Minneapolis – The Chain of Lakes. Which includes Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet and Lake of the Isles. Also, follow Minnehaha Creek trail to Minnehaha Falls and that regional park.

Saint Paul – Como Regional Park. Is a 450-acre park system that includes a free zoological garden and 100 pus year old conservatory. Also has a small amusement park, Como Lake, a wonderful free zoo and music at the pavilion.

West suburb of the Twin Cities – Theodore Wirth Park is a year-round gem. Has over 740 acres of water, trails and gardens.

East suburb of the Twin Cities – Central park is one of the many parks in the east side. Parks breaks down into six sections. They include nature center, sport fields, picnic areas and playgrounds.

South Suburb of the Twin Cities – The Lebanon Hills Regional Park is a massive park. Has 20 miles of hiking trails. 11 miles of mountain bike trails. And 1o miles of equestrian trails. The park has seven lakes. SO, you can swim, fish and launch your boat.
