Spring home projects – fun thing to do
With our four seasons, it’s time for spring home projects for Minnesotans. Also, with many spending additional time at home with our coronavirus concerns we have more time on our hands. What projects should we consider?
Clean the garage – Clean out all the winter dirt. Get the rakes, fertilizer, lawn bags and lawn mower ready to use. Spring will be here very shortly. Also, time to winterize the snowblower and run out the excess gas.
Outside projects – Turn back on the spigots and connect the lawn hose. Make sure your gutters are clean in order to handle the spring rains. Have your extensions on your gutters. Clean your windows and outside lights. Wash your deck. Get your lawn furniture ready to put out. Stock up on mulch to add to or replace what you currently have. Remove last year’s leaves. And take down Christmas lights. Clean the AC unit. Clean your grill because it’s grilling season!
Interior projects – Time to open the windows and air out the house. Clean the inside of the windows. Maybe do some painting. Clean carpets and rugs – you can rent cleaners. Change batteries for smoke detectors. Change the furnace filter. Add salt to the water softener. Clean and organize the storage room.
What else? – Use a punch list since it gives us motivation for the next job when we see the list get smaller. Take some time in between tasks to take a walk. Or spend some relaxing time with someone you love. Love your pet. Put out bird seed and you’ll hear the song of spring.
