Some in-shelter ideas – Fun thing to do

With spring in the air, it is time for outdoor activities. But, with our Coronavirus concerns we must abide by our state mandated “social distancing”. That means 6 feet is recommended in the outdoors. But indoors, like a grocery store, 6 feet is the bare minimum required.

So, what can we do for entertainment and enjoyment?

Rescue a pet – It is a great time to get a pet, like a dog. Gives you the time to bond and train your dog. Also, it gives you exercise and the ability to relax better with a loving dog at your side. I suggest ruffstartrescue.org

Read a good book – This is one I have taken to heart. We all have those books given to us by friends and family. Or those we bought thinking we would have the opportunity. But life always seemed to get in the way of opening the cover and start the process of a good read. Now’s the time to get into a good habit of doing something for you…reading.

Ride your bike – Those bikes are in our garage, basement, or shed and just collecting dust. Time to clean them up, pump up the tires and get some exercise. Remember to wear bright colors so you can be seen and obey the traffic signs.

Board games – My favorite is sequence. Great fun and lots of strategy. You can have 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 players. I prefer a two out of three championship.

Find a great TV show and binge watch – When you watch back to back episodes the season and action seems to flow. I have a wonderful suggestion. Watch “Justified”. It received a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 97%. That’s about as high as I have ever seen! This has had countless awards and nominations like Emmy’s, Critics’ Choice, Peabody Award, etc. Based on the book by Elmore Leonard and has 6 seasons. It is an American crime drama series. Stars Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens. He is something of an old west lawman living in modern times. You will love it! In stores and Netflix for sure.

In conclusion

Enjoy the spring in Minnesota. The metamorphosis from winter to summer is what we wait for all winter. But this spring is different. So, let’s be safe and yet enjoy the moment!
