Review of the Italian Eatery in Minneapolis
The Italian Eatery https://www.italianeatery.com/ is located at 4724 Cedar Ave in Minneapolis. And their phone is 612-223-8504.
The Italian Eatery is attractive from the outside but beautiful from the inside. Bar and kitchen to open to the main dining area. It also offers a large side room with an abundance of windows, and this is for extra dining for large parties. There is a large fence around the patio in the front and that is dog friendly. Just so you are aware I gave an extra half star to my rating for having a dog friendly patio.
It is open Monday to Sunday from 4pm to 10pm. You can make reservations at 612-223-8504 or use OpenTable. They also offer delivery for specific areas.
Here is the menu https://www.italianeatery.com/menus
and what we enjoyed…
- Lamb Bocconcini – this starter was sliced lamb sirloin, with tomato confit, cucumber relish, ricotta salata and mint. Priced at $18. It was very tasty and had a nice presentation. My only complaint is there was very little to it. It was more of a tease than a taste.
- Mushroom Cappelletti – served with crème fraiche, whisky barrel-aged shoyu, roasted mushrooms and thyme. Priced at $20. This was simply amazing…again my only complaint was the portion.
- Ricotta Cavatelli – with house stewed Bolognese and Grana Padano. Priced at $18.00 and portion was barely adequate. Great flavor.
- Fresh bread – warm, fresh, and served with whipped butter. Wonderful!
- Tiramisu – Averna Amaro, lady fingers and espresso. The people with me loved it and the portion was decent. Priced at $10.
- Chocolate Olive Oil Torte – with whipped cream, toasted pistachio, and sea salt. This was wonderful and quite large so two people could share it. I did my best and ate it all myself 😊. Priced at $10.
The service was friendly and professional, and food was served fast. Sat in a booth and it was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, and parking was convenient but be a little careful backing out since it is a tight parking lot and also merging on to Cedar Ave needs some caution.
I give it 4.5 stars **** out of five. The only reason I did not give it five stars was the portions of the starter and the one entrée, otherwise this this is a five-star restaurant.
