Review of The Coop restaurant in South Saint Paul
The Coop https://thecooprestaurant.com/ is in South Saint Paul and started in 1963. It is located at 157 3rd Ave S in South Saint Paul.
The Coop continues today, much as it did in 1963. The chicken, ribs, burgers and Coney islands are the more popular items. The Coop prides itself on being one of the oldest restaurants in South Saint Paul.
The interior is very basic and not a dining atmosphere, but takeout is its claim to fame. It is all about great food at reasonable prices.
It is open Monday to Saturday 10-30am to 8pm and Sundays 11am to 7pm. You can order ahead at 651-455-7566 and I suggest that, or you can wait as long as 30 minutes for a large order. Here is I enjoyed…
- Twenty pieces of chicken – Nice assortment and great quality. I suggest air fry it when you get home if you like it crispy. Priced at $31.25.
- Coleslaw – Wonderful flavor. Priced at $5.50 for a pint.
The service was a little slow, and the preparation for my order was 35 minutes.
I give it four stars **** out of five. The only reason it is not getting five stars is because it is only really a takeout restaurant. The food quality was excellent and priced very well. There is no bathroom and if not, super busy you can park right by the front door and run in to grab your order.
