Review of the 5-8 Club in Minneapolis
5-8 Club https://www.5-8club.com/ is located on Cedar Ave just south of Lake Nokomis. Is known as the home of Juicy Lucy. It first opened in 1928. In 2014, the Travel Channel ranked the 5-8 #1 in America for tastiest place to chow down. City Pages listed eating a Juicy Lucy at 5-8 Club on its Twin Cities bucket list of “50 things to do before you die.”
I have been there many times over the years.
Here is the review of what I have enjoyed…
- Pig-Pen Egg Roll – ground beef, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, pickles and put into an egg roll. Served with sweet Thai chili sauce. This was wonderful!
- Classic Juicy Lucy – Stuffed with Amablu bleu cheese. Served with coleslaw and McDonald type French fries.
The space itself has a bar area with food serve and a dining room with booths.
Our server was ok, not very attentive, or friendly.
We got there at 2:30 during the week and were able to sit down right away.
I give it four and a half stars out of five. This is a must go to restaurant if you are in the area.
