Savage is a second-tier suburb of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area that has 3.69 million residents. The city is on the south bank of the Minnesota River. It was a landing point for Irish and Scottish immigrants in 1800. Once was a shipbuilding port for the U.S. Navy. It is now an industrial manufacturing center in the southern metro of the Twin Cities. The city was named after Marion Willis Savage who owned and trained the nationally celebrated racing horse Dan Patch.
