Review of Luna & The Bear
Luna & The Bear – Kitchen & Libation House https://lunaandthebearmn.com/ is located at 18 W 26th Street in Minneapolis. The owners of the Coalition in Edina opened this new restaurant in what was formally the Eat Street Social. After lots of updates and improvements it is now open for business. Named after the owner’s two dogs, this dog friendly restaurant has a wonderful patio for our furry friends.
I was lucky enough to be there for their pre-testing and then opening night and I have lots to tell you about.
First let’s talk about the beautiful bar that is situated in the middle of the restaurant where you can drink and can also eat. They have something I have not seen before…served top shelf gins with jams. You pick your gin and then jam (sweet, spicy, or both) and have a very refreshing and wonderful cocktail. Our table tried a variety of them, and all were wonderful. There is also an amazing wine list picked by the General Manager Alberto. Lastly, they have a nice selection of craft beers.
Here is the review of what foods we enjoyed…
- Fried Oysters – This appetizer was shared by all, and we loved it.
- Wedge Salad – I ordered it without bacon, but it had small tomatoes and covered with their own Blue Cheese sauce – I would order it again. I’m a big fan.
- Luna Burger – delightful and with so many burger choices any will be great.
- Brick Half Chicken – Literally cooked wrapped around a brick to keep in the moisture – you must try this.
- Catfish & Shrimp – I’m a real fan of catfish and this was perfect. Everything else included on the plate was also delicious.

I give it five stars out of five. This is a must go to restaurant if you live in the Twin Cities and a great spot for you and your dog!
