Review of Hoban Korean in Eagan

 

Hoban Korean Restaurant is in Eagan. Unfortunately, it does not have a website which is very unusual and not good business practice. It is located at 18989 Silver Bell Road in The Shoppes of Cedar Grove in Eagan, Minnesota. They are open seven days a week 11am to 9:30pm. Their number is 651-688-3447. It has a 4.1 rating on google reviews and 4.0 on TripAdvisor.

You can order pickup and delivery with Door Dash, Grubhub, Seamless and UberEATS.

The interior is tasteful but not fancy. The bathroom (men’s) was clean. I determine whether to eat at restaurants but how clean the bathroom is in many instances. If they have a dirty bathroom then they have a dirty kitchen!

Here is what I enjoyed…

• Bulgogi – Thin sliced prime beef with their special sauce. This was a little chewy and did not impress me much. Not a lot of flavors.
• Galbi – Grilled beef short ribs. I loved the flavor of this and would order it again.
• Seafood Bokkeum – Shrimp, scallops, mussels, calamari, octopus, and vegetables. This was wonderful and my favorite dish.
• Cha Jang Myun – Black soybean sauce with onions and potato over noodles. The table liked it, but I found it just ok.
• For appetizers we had Seafood pancake which was amazing! And Shrimp tempura which had heavy batter and was just ok.

The prices are fair and reasonable…but not cheap.

The service was exceptional…he could not have been better. Very personable and attentive.

I give it four stars **** out of five. The food is tasty, the interior is clean and decent, the prices are fair, the bathroom was clean, and the service was exceptional. The lack of a website was annoying.
