Review of Columbia Restaurant in Celebration Florida
The Columbia Restaurant https://www.columbiarestaurant.com/celebration in Celebration Florida is just minutes from Walt Disney World. So, when you travel to Disney World this is an option for dinner. It is located at 649 Front Street in Celebration Florida. They are open Monday through Sunday. They have been around since 1905 and are Florida’s oldest restaurant. Started by a Spanish-Cuban immigrant as Columbia Saloon in 1903 and turned in Columbia Restaurant in 1905. It has now expanded to an entire city block and is one of the largest Spanish restaurants in the world. You can make reservations with OpenTable.
You can dine in or take out.
The interior is beautiful and has two-story ceilings, large windows, luxurious booths, and pictures and memorabilia from 120 years of their existence. There are also smaller rooms, a lovely bar area with dining, a huge covered front patio and smaller patio to the side, and a store within the restaurant. The city of Celebration offers lots of stores, restaurants, and fun places to visit.
The link to their dinner menu is chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.columbiarestaurant.com/_files/ugd/28e529_e7a0eeda0800438eb49ace6491caf29b.pdf The menu offers lots of options for whatever you may be hungry for.
Here is we enjoyed…
- Their homemade Sangria – this is so good they even sell their secret mix in the store. Wonderful blend with fruit and you can order a pitcher like our table did.
- Paella “a la Valenciana” – Traditional paella pan featuring clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari, chicken, and pork and served with Spanish rice. Was well reached by two people at our table and they said it had a perfect amount of seafood and meats. Priced at 38.00.
- 1905 salad – tossed tableside with iceberg lettuce, Swiss cheese, ham, tomato, olives, grated Romano cheese and special sauce. USA Today said it was “one of the top 10 places to make a meal out of a salad”. It was wonderful and served with warm bread and whipped butter.
- Filet Mignon – grilled center cut tenderloin, served with vegetables and yellow rice. This was ordered at medium rare but was cooked medium. It is good but not great. Priced at $46.00
- Ribeye “Sarapico” – char-grilled and described as 16 oz. and bone-in. Served with vegetables and rice. It was not a thick steak as I expected and certainly not 16 oz. – it was more like 12 oz. So, it was good but not great. $46.00.
- Auston Hope wine by Paso Robles – smooth wine with a little fruit flavor. Rich and a value at $62.00.
The service was amazing, and Anna is the only Cuban wait person at the restaurant. I recommend you request her.
I give it four stars **** out of five. The food was good and priced to reflect the surroundings, the interior is spectacular, parking can be difficult to find a spot close, service was amazing and very attentive, they have a functional website, and you can book a reservation with OpenTable, and the bathrooms were very clean. The area is wonderful to walk around and feel safe and since it is so close to Disney World it is a must visit stop if you are in the area.
