GREAT SUMMER SPOT TO VISIT AND

VOTED BEST SMALL TOWN IN MINNESOTA

 EXPLORE NISSWA

One of the special features of living in Minnesota is the summer migration of our residents to the area lakes and small towns that fill our State. Nisswa was voted “Best small town under 5,000” last year by WCCO (CBS). This small town is surrounded by lakes that feature wonderful water recreation and plenty of cabins to rent for a week, month or summer. Some of the great events in town and in the area are watching racing at Brainerd International Raceway, turtle races (real turtles) every Wednesday for the kids, Bingo every Sunday at the Nisswa American Legion, Nisswa Farmer’s market every Thursday, Scandinavian folk music and dance festival, Bluegrass & Southern Gospel Concert, Movie in the Park, MinneJam at the Woods, 6th Annual In-water boat show, Summer Solstice Arts Festival, Lakes Jam Music Festival, Freedom Days Celebration and Parade (4th of July). And all of that is just to the first week of July…so much more the entire summer and fall season! The city is known for its unique stores and many restaurants, upscale shopping, specialty shops like the Chocolate Ox and lots of outside dining for this pet friendly city. I personally can recommend visiting Nisswa, since I enjoy it myself numerous times each and every year!
