Getting your home ready for spring

Getting your home ready for spring

The average temperatures are now about 32 degrees and spring will be here before you know it.

What are things I need to consider now.

  • Have you had your lawn mower tuned up and is old gas removed from last year?
  • Good idea to make sure your filter in your furnace and air-exchanger has been changed and is clean.
  • Are any of your screens in need of repair…good time to take them in to Ace Hardware to have that done.
  • Are you gutters ready for the spring rains and free of debris?
  • Do you have a sprinkling service who is going to activate your system and check it out in the spring?
  • If you have a yard service for regular treatments now is the time to make sure you are on the list.
  • If you hire a landscape company for a spring cleanup now is the time to make sure you are scheduled.
  • Program your thermostat to reflect the summer season needs.
  • Have your AC unit checked out by a professional but first back sure it is clean and ready for them to turn it on.
  • Check your dryer vent to make sure it is free of dust.
  • Your outside spigot have been bleed so you will need to close the value, close the faucet value outside and turn on the water.
  • Springtime is a good time to have your exterior windows cleaned so call to get scheduled.
  • If you need any driveway, patio, sidewalk concrete work done now is the time to get on their schedule.
  • Any exterior work that is needed now is the time to get bids and contact contractor since their schedule is already filling up.

And enjoy this wonderful spring season in Minnesota!
