New Prague Minnesota is in Scott and Le Sueur counties in Minnesota. It is 45 miles south of The Twin Cities. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area that has 3.52 million residents. Faribault is located at the confluence of the Cannon and Straight Rivers.
New Prague was started in 1856 and named after Prague, the capital of Bohemia (now the Czech Republic). Immigrants of Bohemia built the town. New Prague expanded when the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railroad came to it. Le Sueur County has had more Bohemian immigrants than any other county in the state. It grew dramatically in the 1890’s as farm produce production and mills began putting out floor.

Importantly, a rural feel, it is rich in history, great schools, a younger population, has a wonderful downtown, has high marks for safety and low crime and features a high quality of life. In short, I suggest considering New Prague if you are planning on moving to the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.
