Lino Lakes is in Anoka county, Minnesota. Located 17.3 miles from Saint Paul with a 20-minute commute time. It is 20.8 miles and a commute of 29 minutes to Minneapolis. It is part of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area that has 3.52 million residents.

Area was first settled by the Dakota. White hunters and trappers began coming into the area around 1850. In the late 1850’s the population of 300 was loosely organized in three settlements…the German, the Swede and the French. The origin of the word “Lino” is unknown, and “Lake” referred to area geography.

To summarize, I have found Lino Lakes to be a popular city. Importantly, it has great amenities, many parks and trails, and moderate commute times. In short, I strongly suggest considering Lino Lakes if you are planning on moving to the Twin Cities of Minnesota.
