The History of Hopkins
Hopkins is a suburb of Minneapolis. It is a city in Hennepin County in the state of Minnesota. Located on the west side of the metro and is four square miles in size. The first settlers in Hopkins arrived in 1852. The area started growing when the Threshing Machine Company opened in 1887. In 1893 Hopkins became a village. Named after Harley H. Hopkins. He was one of the first settlers and first postmaster.
