Yellow Medicine East school district serves families from Granite Falls, Clarkfield, Echo, Hanley Falls, Hazel Run as well as those families that may live in rural areas surrounding these communities. If you would like to check to see if a specific address is within the YME school district boundaries, please click here. Yellow Medicine East does participate in Open Enrollment. If your address is outside of the YME district boundaries, you may still choose to send your child to our district via the Open Enrollment option. Please contact the district for more information. For those families open enrolling to the district will review the transportation needs on a case-by-case basis.
Bert Raney Elementary is located in Granite Falls and houses Early Childhood to 5th grade, with approximately 390 students. The average class size is 18 students. Students are provided with many different opportunities to grow and learn at their pace. We strive to ensure success for our students by providing quality instruction and a positive environment that promotes learning. We work to provide your child with the opportunity to grow and to develop for success in today’s world.
Middle/High School is located in Granite Falls and houses 6th-12th grade, with approximately 390 students. The average class size is 20 students. Our Commitment at YME is to provide a safe, positive and intellectual learning environment that will empower students to become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers, and inspired learners. Today’s generation of learners need to participate in activities that challenge and engage them, that help them develop important life skills, and prepare them for high school, college and life in the twenty-first century. We offer small class sizes and a large number of exploratory classes. We also offer a full menu of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
