There are many characteristics and features highlighting our uniqueness. We offer opportunities to learn about and experience diverse cultures not often associated with small towns. Pelican Rapids Public Schools has a rich tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts. Our state-of-the-art facilities include the Al Siegle Activities Center for our indoor sports and activities including a raised walking tracking that many visitors use during breaks in action while attending games and events, and the jewel we have in our Fine Arts Auditorium used for school and community performances and events. As a ‘Leader in Me’ school district, our students learn and practice Stephen Covey’s ‘7 Habits’ honing their leadership skills to meet the challenges of today and those they’ll face tomorrow.
As the Pelican Rapids staff is planning the details for the upcoming school year our focus continues to be what is best for our students. We are committed to safe and healthy learning, staying connected to our students and partnering with families to navigate these unchartered waters.
We believe that education is a partnership between student, family, school and community. Now, more than ever, as educators and parents, we have the opportunity to model life skills for our children and our students. We are all learning how to deal with delayed gratification, processing on-going change, grieving loss and finding meaning in new life circumstances.
Grit and perseverance are gained in times of adversity. After crossing through those waters last spring, we came together as a school and a community. As we supported our students and one another we acquired VIKING STRENGTH.
Together we can do this! Unity is our strength!
