What is Tee it Up for the Troops?
Began in 2005 when families and friends of a soldier deployed in Iraq wanted to send him and his fellow soldiers supplies. This was at a time we were undeployed and he and his group were sleeping in alleyways in Bagdad. He said you could never get supplies to us so please just do something for the service members and their families back home.
So, a golf event was started at Mendakota Country Club to raise money for scholarships for the fallen’s children.
Since that first event Tee it Up for The Troops has had 612 events, raised over $12,800,000 and helped over 257,290 heroes and their families. The pillars they now give to for active duty, veterans, and families of the fallen are…
· Housing & homelessness
· Family & caregiver support
· PTSD & traumatic brain injury treatment
· Suicide prevention
· Golf & Sports rehabilitation

On a personal note…I have been a board member of Tee it Up for The Troops since the inception and it has been an honor and a privilege to help those that have given so much and ask for so little!
