What is Minnesota Flyball?

Flyball is a dog sport with teams of dogs that race against each other from the start to the finish line. They go over a line of hurdles, to a box that releases a tennis ball to be caught as the dog presses the spring-loaded pad, then they race back to their handlers while carrying the ball. Two teams of four dog’s race.

We are in North American Flyball Association (NADA).

My dog Persey (who is featured in the photo) is a member of the Bloomington Obedience Training Club (BOTC) Flyball team. Our captains are Sara Chouinard and Aime Youngdahl. I love this team because they are focused on the welfare of the dogs and the Flyball journey that is to be enjoyed with your beloved pet.

To start this sport with your dog BOTC offers a Flyball class as a steppingstone to joining a Flyball team and enjoying this wonderful sport with your dog. There are many area tournaments to enjoy Flyball.
