Visit Buck Hill Ski Area
Buck Hill opened in Burnsville Minnesota in 1954. It Offers ski, snowboard, and tubing trails. Located next to Highway 35 off the Crystal Lake or 160th exit. It is entirely lit so you can do all the activities in daylight or at night.
It was named by early settlers who noticed the summit was a spot for the Mdewakanton Dakota tribe to watch male deer (bucks) drink at Crystal Lake.
It has been blessed with some of the best women skiers in history learned to ski there. They include Lindsey Vonn and Kristina Koznick. Lindsey Vonn has won 82 World Cup race victories (most ever by far) and three Olympic medals.
Bick Hill has Ski racing teams for all ages, snowboarding teams, and summer camps. It is also part of the Gold Certified USSA race program. In
addition, there are children and adult lessons for every stage of development.
The tubing is fun for all ages and some of the family can tub, while others ski and snowboard. The tub runs have different levels and do not think you cannot get a thrilling run…because you can!
In non-COVID times there is a clubhouse, restaurant, and sport shop. Please see the website for reservations as tickets need to be purchased prior to arrival (required) and COVID polices.
In the summertime there is hiking and mountain bike trails to enjoy!
This is a wonderful asset to the Minneapolis/St Paul metro area and one that is enjoyed by many. Bring the entire family…everyone will find something fun to do when you visit Buck Hill Ski Area!
