Review of the musical Come Far Away

I went into this play with being familiar with the storyline of what happened on 9/11 with our airplanes being diverted and the airspace being closed. But I was unprepared for such a powerful performance and wonderful place. This was simply one of the best I have EVER seen! Bring tissues because it is very emotional! I saw this performance at The Phoenix Theatre Company, and it was a wonderful venue.

Come Far Away

Come Far Away is a musical. The book, music and lyrics by Irene Sandoff and David. The play is based on the events in the Newfoundland town of Gander and the week following the September 9-11 attacks. There were thirty-eight planes, with approximately 7,000 passengers ordered to land unexpectantly at Gander International Airport. The characters in the play are based on actual Gander residents and the stranded travelers they cared for and housed and fed.

I give this play five stars out of five and strongly suggest you see it. While I saw it in The Phoenix Theatre Company you can book tickets now to see it at the Guthrie.
