Review of Coalition in Edina.

 

Located on 50^th near the corner of 50^th and France. Coalition https://www.coalitionrestaurant.com/ states…Combining an inspired menu with a casually sophisticated setting. “Coalition is about the combined efforts of chefs, cooks, servers, farmers, vineyards, and brewers and I see that partnership extending to our guests by providing the highest quality food and service in a warm and welcoming environment”. – Eli Wollenzien, Executive Chef/Owner.

We went there for a very important event last weekend…the rehearsal dinner for my daughter. They had use in a side room that was cozy for 25 people, but they accommodated our expanded size with kind understanding and creatively fit us all in.

Here is the review of some of what we enjoyed…

• Steak & Lobster – it was a special item. Tenderloin was done perfectly and was high quality and same could be said for the sweet and crisp lobster tail.
• Cauliflower – really yummy-has sweet chili BBQ, I couldn’t stop helping myself to this.
• Fried Brussels – This was my favorite – with charred corn, queso fresco and chili lime seasoning. I would go there just for this!
• Walleye – parmesan crust, lemon aioli and nice potato dish. Excellent quality.

We had two dedicated servers for the evening for our group and they did an excellent job. The manager, Kevin, was a pleasure to work with.

I give it five stars ***** out of five. The atmosphere was “elegantly causal”, and the location was wonderful!
