My impressions
The area of south of the river has a smaller number of very good restaurants. But Doolittle’s is one of them. Doolittle’s is a standout. First, I like the atmosphere. It features an aviation and military theme. Second, I’m all in when we can honor those brave defenders of our freedom. Third, it has fireplaces and booths and is well designed. Fourth, the service is friendly, professional and quick. We had Stephanie wait on us and I would recommend her. Fifth, they offer a large patio that is tastefully finished. Lastly, the food is anyways great and served warm.

Woodfire Buffalo Wings
I could make a meal of these. Roasted over an open fire so they have an abundance of flavor. Maybe the best wings in the Twin Cities.
Smoked Hanger Steak
I loved this. It’s an 8 oz steak and a warning for big eaters – it seems less. Also, it is precut so order it done one less than you would normally do. Served with horseradish whipped potatoes. Also includes braised spinach.
Top Sirloin Steak
This is a center cut 10 oz steak. I really liked the taste and quality. Another warning seems more like an 8oz steak in size. Comes with greens beans. Also, parsley buttered potatoes which don’t excite me much.
The drinks
I can only share with you the one wine I had. A nice blend called “the Other” Red by Peirano Estate. It’s a blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah. Also, on Tuesdays you will be able to buy half priced bottles of wine.
Would I go there again?
You bet. I’m a regular there with family and friends. I have been visiting this restaurant for over ten years. This is a must try for those who live south of the river. And even a great spot if you live elsewhere.
