Nightingale’s Restaurant Review in Minneapolis

Here is our Nightingale’s restaurant review after we visited the restaurant Nightingale’s.

It is located at 2551 Lyndale Ave South in Minneapolis. This area is known as the Whittier neighborhood. The owners are the husband & wife team of Jasha Johnson and Carrie McCabe-Johnson. It opened in 2012.

Our impressions of Nightingale’s Minneapolis

The four of us were sitting in a round booth by the front window. I believe that the booths and tables in the front are the best locations and next would be nearby the very attractive bar in back. We found the service attentive, informative and at the same time humorous. In fact, it was some of the best service we all have experienced for some time.

The food

This evening was in celebration of my daughter’s birthday and we were there to taste a wide variety of food items. Here is our selections and impressions.

Smoked Chicken Liver Pate with bacon marmalade – Definitely one of my favorites. I found the Pate as good as I have had anywhere.

French Fries with malt vinegar aioli – We were told this was a must item to try and we were not disappointed. It was yummy. I suggest you order the fries well done.

Roasted mushroom bruschetta with sunny side up quail egg – in a word “perfect”. I consumed this entirely myself in fact it was too good to share!

Scallops with almond gazpacho and green grapes – we had one order and everyone had a couple of bites. Shortly there after I ordered it again! This was flat out the best scallops I can ever remember having!

Mussels with ale & smoked tomatoes – expertly prepared, no fishy smell and had a wonderful taste

Braised collard greens with smoked mushrooms – I’m a huge fan of collard greens but found these leather-like and not to my liking. To summarize…skip this one.
