Sartell-St. Stephen Community,
It is with great honor and pride that I serve as Superintendent for the Sartell-St. Stephen School District. Our strength and success lie in outstanding staff, students, and a community who believe that its schools are an integral part of its success. I am continually energized and inspired by the passion and commitment I witness in my daily interactions.
As a school community, we are deeply saddened by the death of George Floyd and the events that have surrounded it. We have been challenged to think about how we live our mission and vision. As a school district, we are committed to ensuring that each child is part of a healthy, safe, engaged, and supported environment. We reaffirm our promise to build an inviting culture where every child feels respected and valued. As educators, we have always believed that we have the power to change the world. We are now on the threshold of an opportunity to truly put those beliefs into action. We believe that every child has the potential to grow and develop into a well-rounded person who contributes positively to the world. We vow to live these ideals and partner with our communities in strengthening our education system to ensure an equitable and culturally responsive experience for every child. While we have taken steps in the right direction, we know these steps are not enough. We can do more and want to reassure you that we are committed to standing up and stepping even deeper into this call for change.
These are challenging times, but we will come through them as a stronger and more unified school community. I am privileged to be able to serve as your Superintendent and my commitment to our school system is deeper than ever.
