City of Saint Paul Minnesota

Saint Paul Minnesota

Saint Paul is in Ramsey, Minnesota. It is part of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area that has 3.52 million residents. It is situated on the Mississippi River.

St. Paul is the capital of the State of Minnesota. It is the 63rd largest city in the United States. The legislative assembly of the Minnesota Territory established the town of St. Paul as its capital near existing Dakota Sioux settlements in November 1849. The city is home to Xcel energy Center which is the home of the Minnesota Wild. It has the Science Museum of Minnesota, the new soccer stadium Allianz Field. It is also the head of Ecolab.

The city has the St. Paul’s Cathedral which is the seat of the archdiocese. It overlooks the downtown.

The area has a long history with the Hopewell Native Americans living in the area about 2,000 years ago. The Sioux and Dakota tribes lived in the area. Settlers moved to this river town area and by 1858 saw over 1,000 steamboats servicing St. Paul. It was called “The Last City of the East”.

The city offers a great park system, wonderful lakes, wonderful amenities and restaurants, affordable housing, and a small-town feel.
