Mahtomedi is a city in Washington County, Minnesota is part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. It is a second-tier suburb. It is located on the northeast side of the metro area from St. Paul.

Mahtomedi was first settled in the 1883. The name is Dakota and means White Bear Lake and mato’ – the grey bear. In 1884 the post office on Wildwood road was built, it remains in operation today.

To summarize, I have found Mahtomedi to be an extremely popular city. Importantly, it features a wonderful recreation park and great schools. It is a highly rated city with an A rating. In short, I strongly suggest considering Mahtomedi if you are planning on moving to the Twin Cities of Minnesota.
